In the Holy Land (Dictated by Dave Utterback)

Well, after an 11 hour flight and 2 hour bus ride, here we sit: Scott, Joy, Kitty, Dave and Renie, in the lobby of the Gai Beach Hotel on the shore of the sea of Galilee. The buses were full to the gills and they had to put 10 people on another van as well.

We were met on time by a very kind and cordial staff (including Kay Arthur at the hotel) and all the details seem to be under control. Upon our arrival at the hotel we had a great meal and really enjoyed it.

We're all VERY, VERY tired and will call it a night for now. The sign says we need to be up for breakfast around 6:30!! YIKES!! It will be a full day tomorrow of touring the Galilee area beginning at 8 am. We understand that Kay likes to do thing in chronological order so we're starting where Jesus' ministry started.

PS - Our blog site now has instructions in Hebrew so we're a bit handicapped!

Glad to see that you made it safely to Israel!! Tiberias was one of my absolute favorite places. I trust it is as beautiful as it was back in the mid-seventies. When around the local guides you may want to ask them questions. They were always ready to answer them for us. They seemed to enjoy it when they were around people who really wanted to learn and they are so knowledgable. Bev, Nate and I are praying for you and thanks again for the blog. Hope you will be able to decifer the Hebrew. God Bless, Marty Zide

I'm so glad to hear that you made it safely. Did you know that President Bush is in Israel too? Hope you get a good night's sleep & have a wonderful time walking where Jesus walked tomorrow. I look forward to reading all about it! You are all in my prayers. Love, Kathy Gieg

WOW! Bless your hearts! Sounds like quite a trip. Hope you'll all have a chance to catch up from the jet lag. We look forward to keeping track of you through the blog. We're praying for you!

Please pass along to Debbie & Scott: You'll be pleased to hear that the kids are all alive and well in spite of our feeble attempts at parenting. Ha Ha! Everything has gone very smoothly all in all. Scott and I have been in a learning curve and Amanda and Nathan have been wonderful helpers to us - showing us the ropes, so to speak. You have some pretty awesome kids!! We love you guys and are praying for you. Thank you for the opportunity to spend this precious time with your children.
Love,
Scott and Betty
